Phone Bank Routing

Assign call lists, run your script, record outcomes — the same way you run a canvass, without leaving the house.

The Phone Bank Problem

Phone banking runs on spreadsheets, Google Sheets shared over email, and volunteers reading numbers off a printout while hand-writing tally marks. Results get texted back to a data person who types them in Sunday night — if they get them at all.

You have no idea who's been called, what the outcome was, or whether your volunteers are actually working the list.

Flip runs phone banks the same way it runs canvasses — assigned routes, tap-to-call, real-time outcomes, one-click export.

How a Phone Canvass Works

1
Upload
Upload your voter file — same VAN format as a walk canvass. Flip clusters it into call lists and assigns routes.
2
Call
Volunteer opens their link, taps to call, reads the script, records the outcome. One tap per contact.
3
Export
Coordinator downloads results sorted by outcome. Reached, voicemails, no answers — ready to build the next list.

How It Works

1
Upload your call list. Same CSV or VAN export you'd use for door-knocking. Flip clusters contacts into manageable call lists and generates a shareable link for each volunteer.
2
Write your script once. Enter a call script when you create the canvass. It appears on every contact card — volunteers never have to remember what to say or flip between tabs.
3
Volunteers tap to call. Each contact card shows the voter's name, demographics, and a tap-to-call phone number. One tap dials. No copying numbers, no paper lists.
4
Record the outcome in one tap. Reached, left voicemail, no answer, wrong number, refused, disconnected — one button per call. The result saves instantly.
5
Export and build your next list. Results export to Excel, sorted by outcome. Reached contacts stay on your supporter list. No answers and voicemails feed your next call canvass. One upload, no manual sorting.
If your volunteer can tap a link from a text message, they can phone bank for you. No app. No training. No paper tally sheets.

Call Outcomes

Export sorts by outcome automatically — reached contacts first, then voicemails and no-answers for your follow-up list, then remove-from-list outcomes at the bottom.

What Volunteers See

Each contact card shows everything a caller needs:

No map. No walking order. Just the information that matters on a phone call.

Printed Call Sheet

For volunteers who prefer paper, Flip generates a printed call sheet — the phone bank equivalent of a walk sheet. Each contact gets a row with their name, phone number, voter detail, and outcome checkboxes. The script prints at the top.

A QR code on the sheet links directly to the digital route, so a volunteer can start on paper and switch to their phone mid-session without losing their place.

One System for Every Canvass Type

Flip handles door canvasses, phone banks, and yard sign routes — all from the same coordinator dashboard, all using the same voter file, all exporting to the same format.

Run a door canvass. Follow up with a phone bank to the contacts you missed. Generate a sign route from the households that said yes. Track everything from one place, with the same tool your volunteers already know how to use.
